Q: Why Panzer-Shop?
A: Panzer-Shop was created because there was no good place to get cheap, but well made, Military vehicles. Often they are very expensive, which makes a model train hobby even more expensive then it already is. By having this webshop we want to ensure that many people can have the vehicles they want, for a good price. We strive to get you your vehicles as fast and as good as we can.
Q: How are the scale models made?
A: All vehicles are made of resin. Most companys use casting resin to make their models, but this results in a lower detailling grade then possible with Resin. This is why we print our models with a special technique to get them precise to the design up to 0.02mm. After this they are cured in UV-light to ensure optimal strenght.
Q: In what colors can i order the scale models?
A: In transparant only. The disadvantage of a painted model is that it never really is what you want it to be. If you have an urban or desert theme, you dont want a green tank to drive there. It wouldnt fit. Besides that, printing in transparant is the cheapest, so it keeps the vehicles affordable. A model could be printed in grey, but the material costs would raise by 63 percent. Also it wouldnt be the right tint of grey, because it would be too light and too shiny. Because of these reasons we only make transparant models. Cheaper and more practical.
Q: I would like to have the models in 1:144, 1:148, 1:150, or another scale close to 1:160.
No problem! Send us an email with the vehicles you would like to have rescaled and we can make it happen. For this rescaling we ask a standard price of €1 per vehicle to compensate for the extra material costs. Some vehicles are not possible to get rescaled to a larger size, but by far the most of them are!
Scales like 1:100, 1:87 and 1:72 we do not make. For that we refer to our Shapeways page.
Q: Are the models 100 percent transparant? Like glass for example?
A: No. They are more hazed then glass. The curing process makes that the clear resin decolors to a more yellow-ish tint and that it gets foggy. The curing however is necessary, because it would easily break if it isnt cured. In the end the model is painted by you, so it doesnt matter whether its either 100 percent transparant or yellow-ish, its about the shape and details. You decide the color during the painting proces.
Q: What about the environment? Do you think about that?
A: Yes. Nowadays everyone has to do their bit, so we do that as well. Our equipment and consumables are carefully selected for natural degradability. Poorly degradable materials are also disposed of properly. Resin-printed models are not going to be more enviromental friendly then ours!
Q: What is the best way to paint the models?
A: Take a look on our How-To's page. One of our customers, Derk, has written very clear guides on how you can easily paint the models, even without prior experience. Of course you can also paint the models with an airbrush!
The models are degreased best with an alcohol solution like isopropanol or medical alcohol for wounds. If any stubs remain of the supports that are used for printing, those are easily removed with any modelling vile.
Q: I have bent the barrel slightly. Can i get these straight again?
Yes. Heat up the barrel under the warm water tap. After it is heated up you can hold the barrel straight. Wheille you are holding it straight, quickly cool it in cold water under the tap or in a glass. The barrel will then hold the position it was in when cooled. Still not straight? Run the whole process again, because it is a repeatable process. Be very, very carefull when the model is warm as it becomes very brittle when heated. It breaks very easily so be carefull.
Q: Are there other things i should pay attention to?
A: It is important, as with any model, to not keep the model in the sun for too long. Especially unpainted models are very sensitive to sunlight, because they might overcure. In light cases they might turn slightly brown, but in extreme cases they might turn very brown and crack over time. This might even happen weeks after being over exposed to UV-light, it does not have to happen immediatly. So watch out for the sun!
Q: What are the payment methods?
A: Currently we accept IDeal, Bancontact, Mastercard and PayPal. You can also wire us the money before we send it. You can select all of the options during the ordering process.
Q: I live outside the European Union. Can i purchase your goods with the tax deducted?
A: Yes! To all countries outside of the European Union all VAT is removed from the order. This may be charged by your customs agency, depending on the laws in your country.
Q: What are the shipping costs?
A: Shipping to The Netherlands is €4,95. You will receive a track and trace code by email.
Shipping is free to all countries, for orders above €200, except for Taiwan.
In other cases shipping costs will often vary. You can watch the actual shipping cost in the shopping cart. We ship to the entire EU, Australia, America, Canada, Russia, Switzerland and Taiwan. If we don't ship to your country yet, send us a message and it will be arranged!
